Strike: Monarch Pleads With Osun Workers To Call Off Action

Osun State Workers under the aegis of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Osun state chapter, have been again pleaded with to stay action on their ongoing industrial action saying the situation was not good for the progress of the state.

Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Hammed Adekunle Oyelude, Tegbosun III made this passionate appeal at the Public Presentation and Revised edition of Book Launch titled THE MAKING OF ILEOGBO” held in the Town Hall of the ancient Town.

According to Oba Oyelude, the Royal Pleading became necessary in order to forestall further economic degration in the State which has already caused by the general downturn in the Oil stream sector as a result of its over dependency and being only source of Gross Domestic Product in Nigeria.

” There is no doubt that, this is a double hard times for the both Government and its Governed as a result of General Bad Economy across the States. The fact points towards one direction that Nigeria has far too long depended on Oil for its living without considering its adverse effect,” he affirmed.

He noted further that since the oil has failed as a means of survival, the situation demanded austerity measures by engaging in diversifying economies through multiple approach systems of which present administration in the state currently embarking upon so as to bring back the State to her abundant financial footing.

Oba Oyelude therefore implored workers in the State to be more patient with the present administration led by Governor Rauf Aregbesola till March as it has promised for he would eventually keep his promises and Statutory Obligations as dictated by the Constitution and accordance with International Labour Laws.

He maintained that “I strongly believe in the Government that it would deliver on its promises because it is obligatory and duty bound to its Workers in accordance with the Law of the Land, even International Labour Laws that recognise Dignity of Labour.”

Reacting to the Creative Ingenuity of the author, he commended the zeal and passion of Alli Ibrahim for not allowing environmental factor debar his morale in doing what is worth doing.

While admonishing Nigerian Youths to borrow a leaf from his good attitudinal tree by so doing there would be a better Tomorrow for the Country.

Earlier in his remark, the Chairman of the occasion, Otunba Gani Adams, Aare Ona Kakanfo designate of Yoruba Land represented by Mr. Akin Adebisi who equally doubled as a Book Presenter lauded creative Skills in the work of Art by Alli Ibrahim which he described as an Act of writing history on the marble of life.

In there separate remarks, the Royal Father of the day, Oluwo of Iwo His Imperial Majesty Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale and the Royal Host, Olu of Ileogbo Oba.Adetoyese Abeeb described the book as a true-rich writing that engendered facts and figures of Ileogbo which a must read for all Sons and Daughters of the Town.

They added that it was not surprising such an exponential Blackbuster came through a hidden treasure like Alli Ibrahim, they also enjoined him to continue to do more.
