Omisore’s Invitation Not Political – Osun CP

Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Fimihan Adeoye has stated that the recent invitation of a former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore by Osun State Police Command over an assault on late Senator Isiaka Adeleke and some other politicians over three years ago has no political undertone.

CP Adeoye explained that since the incident in 2014, Omisore has not honoured Police invitation and he has not written his statement, adding that when police submitted the case file to the Department of Public Prosecution in the Ministry of Justice for legal advise, the DPP mandated the police to get the statement of Omisore and others that were involved in the case.

While urging the general public to shun the negative rumours been circulated about the invitation, Adeoye said Police has done the right thing by inviting Omisore to come and write his statement and that the action of police is within the ambit of the law.

Senator Iyiola Omisore was invited by the police in a letter dated 20th October 2017 to meet with Deputy Commissioner of police in charge of State criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in connection with a case of Assault occasioning harm reported by (late) Senator Isiaka Adeleke against him.
