There was a melodrama at the screening for the aspirants vying for East Senatorial ticket of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, in the forthcoming bye election, on Sunday, as state scribe of the party, Mr. Razak Salinsile, declared that late Senator Isiaka Adeleke’s younger brother, Ademola is not a member of the party.
Dr. Ademola Adeleke, who was present at the venue of the exercise, is vying for the APC senatorial ticket, alongside Senator Mudasiru Hussein, who appears to be enjoying the backing of Gov Rauf Aregbesola.
The APC screening committee led by the Speaker of Zamfara State House of Assembly, however cautioned Salinsile, saying any objection to Ademola Adeleke’s aspirations should be forwarded to the party’s screening committee in writing.
When approached for response, Ademola Adeleke said, as a proof of his membership of APC, he has already submitted his party membership card to the screening committee.
Hussein and Adeleke were later screened by the committee.
