Even In Death, You Remain A Champion : Rt. Hon Adejare Bello

Asiwaju, with your painful and sudden death that has sent shock across the land, it is an axiom  that though good men may die, death cannot kill their names.

Beyond  rhetorics, you lived above politics and religion. You were cosmopolitan, gregarious, philanthropic, a patriotic Nigerian and irredeemably committed to the growth of your state, Osun and Ede, your community.

If truly the dead do have glimpses of what happen after their exit, then by now, you should be smiling in your grave as even in  death,you are more than a conqueror. This has left your enemies browbeaten and gasping for breath in wonderment.

In life, you stood tall among your your peers because you were for justice and peace. Any wonder then that in death, your enduring deeds have become talk of the town?  Surely, you have left a legacy for us, the living.

As for me, can I  ever forget you, never!  The reasons for these are not far fetched : (1) under your leadership, I won elections four consecutive times(1997, 1999,2003 and 2007)

(2)Through your purposeful leadership and mentoring, I became the Minority Leader in State House of Assembly in 1999.

(3)Again,through your political tutelage, I was the Speaker of the State House of Assembly for 8 good and solid years(2003-2011).

My leader, it is painful to believe you are no more but the stark reality has continued to assail us, leaving our hearts to ache unabated.

Oga mi, as you journey on till we meet to part no more, your people of Ede Community whose interest you doggedly and consistently fought for, shall continue to miss you; Osun which you pioneered its headship as the first civilian governor, will never forget you, Nigeria which you served meritoriously, will never forget you and those lives you touched around the globe will forever, have you glued to  their memories.

As for me,I shall be eternally indebted to you  for all your  good deeds towards me and  my prayers to God Almighty  is that He rewards you with aljana fidausi.
