Adeleke’s Legacy: I won four Elections under his leadership – Rt. Hon. Rafiu Adejare Bello

The Former Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly who is also one of the Aspirants of the 2018 Gubernatorial race under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the late Sen. Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke as a cosmopolitan, philanthropist, a patriotic Nigerian and a man who was irredeemably committed to the growth of Ede Land, Osun State and Nigeria at large.

He made this known in a Statement made available today shortly after the 8th Day Fidau Prayer for the late titan at his Country Home in Ede. He said “In life, Sen. Isiaka Adeleke stood tall among his peers because he was for Peace and Justice. A cosmopolitan, gregarious, philanthropist and a Patriotic Nigerian”.

Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello who also hails from the same town(Ede) with late Sen. Adeleke and also among those who benefited immensely from his leadership stated that he(Bello) contested in four(4) consecutive times and won.

He stated that “As for me, can I forget Sen. Isiaka Adeleke? No! The reasons for these are not far fetched. Under his leadership, I won four elections consecutively. (1997, 1999, 2003 and 2007”.

“Through his purposeful leadership and mentoring, I became the Minority Leader in the State House of Assembly in 1999. Again, through his political tutelage, I was the Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly for 8 good and solid years (2003-2011).”

While speaking on how Sen. Adeleke will be missed, he stressed that “Ede Community whose interest he doggedly and consistently fought shall continue to miss him, Osun which he pioneered its headship as the first Civilian Governor, Nigeria he served meritoriously will never forget him and the lives he touched around the globe will forever have him glued to their memories.”
