Manchester United players will wear black armbands on Sunday, April 30, to mourn the seven fans that died at a viewing centre in Calabar, Cross River state, Nigeria.

This was disclosed in a tweet by the club’s official Twitter handle (@Manutd) on Friday, April 28.

Manchester United welcome Swansea City on Sunday, April 30, in week 34 of the Premier League.

Last week, amiloaded had reported that over 30 people reportedly lost their lives at a football viewing centre in Calabar, after high tension electricity cable broke from its mooring and fell on the roof of the building.

But according to the official police report, the high-tension cable which fell inside the viewing centre in Calabar killed seven people and injured several others who were watching Manchester United’s Europa League game against Anderlecht.

The football fans were said to have assembled at the centre to watch a UEFA Europa League quarter-final match between Manchester United and Anderlecht on satellite television, a game the host won 2-1 (3-2) on aggregate to advance to the semi-final.
