Yusuff Ola-Gold Installed As The Charter President Of Rotaract Club Of Iwo ( Photos)

The ancient city of Iwo was agog yesterday, Saturday, 25th of November, 2017 as Yusuff Olatunji, Mutalub was installed as the Charter President of Rotaract Club of Iwo Community Based, Nigeria. The investiture ceremony took place at the popular Iris Club along Bowen Unuiversity Road, Iwo.

Rotaract Club is the youth arm of Rotary International. Rotaract Club is one of Rotary most significant and fastest growing service organizations, with more than 8,400 clubs in 170 countries and geographical area, Rotaract club has become a worldwide phenomenon rendering selfless service to humanity , addressing the physical and social needs of the community, promoting international understanding and peace through framework of friendship and service.

The investiture ceremony attracted dignitaries including the Oluwo of Iwo, ably represented by Aremo of Iwo, the Commissioner for Empowerment and Youth Engagement, Hon (Mrs) Folake Adegboyega who was also the Chairperson of the occasion.

 Also in attendance was the Former Vice Chancellor of Osun state University, Prof Tola Alamu, Sooko Paarin of Iwoland, Prince Adedimeji Tadese among other top government functionaries and academics.

The guest speaker at the investiture, Dr Olufemi Abanikannda posited during his keynote address posited that there is an outright need for a change of mindset among youths from despondency, apathy and ‘exit’ to hopeful and positivity. Dr Abanikannda also expressed that generational thinking is germane for stability, progress and development. Youths must be generational thinkers.

Another high point of the investiture ceremony is the presentation of award of excellence to deserving dignitaries including former chairman of Egbedore local government, Barr Bamidele Salam, the managing director of S. ADISS Engineering Limited, Engr. Samuel Oluwasegun Bolaji, Prince Dare Obelawo, both bagging vocational service award, CEO of Amiloaded, Aminat Ajibola also received Porfessional service award. CEO of Yusmoj Foods, Yusuff Adewuyi received Distinguished Service award while ArcTunji Ogunrinu of Tunog AB & partners also received professional service award. Mr Mojeed Adeniyi of Newton College, Hon Remi Omowaiye and Alabi Omolara Olutayo, all received different categories of award.

The inaugural fellowship of club was held at the palace of Oluwo of Iwo, Oba (Dr) Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, and the high point of it was that Oluwo was present in person. Ever since the inaugural meeting, the club has continued to grow from strength to strength. It is important and worthy of mention that the club, through the efforts of his committed members won the most promising club award in the zone.

This was made possible through the moral support the club has been receiving from her sponsoring club, Rotary Club of Osogbo Central. This club has also executed a good number of community development projects through the selfless service of club members.

During his inaugural speech, the president outlined some of the projects to be executed by the club among them are;
Partnering with The BEES CONCEPT in a HEALTH TALK PROGRAMME targeted at secondary schools girls  
Construction and mounting of Rotaract Bill Board in two strategic Positions in Iwo Membership development seminar in Visitation to Free the Child Orphanage and material donation Skill acquisition training for youths Donation of education material to Iwo Grammar School, Iwo Environmental sanitation of Oluwo palace and Oluwo market Donation to Rotary Foundation Chartering of Interact Club at Newton College, Iwo Health outreach in partnership with Papa Africa Foundation Trust The president also used the opportunity to solicit for support in order to excute all the aforementioned projects for the benefit of humanity.

The charter president of the club, Yusuff Ola-Gold is a social commentator, an advocate of good governance and inclusive development facilitator. He is also the founder and Executive Director of Arise and Impact Nigerian Youths Initiative, a registered youth based non-government organization/ social enterprise.
