As part of activities lined up for the celebration of its 8th anniversary, the World Institute for Peace has announced some prominent persons in Nigeria, USA, India, Ghana and Senegal for the international honorary award, ‘Knight of World Peace’, AMILOADED reports.
The event slated for January 30, 2022, has been scheduled to hold at the Nigerian Army Resource Center, Abuja.
The latest development was contained in a statement released by the Executive Chairman of the Institute, Amb. Lamina Kamiludeen, while addressing newsmen during a press briefing organised by the executives of the organization on the 10th of January, 2022.
Kamiludeen stated that the award is in recognition of the tremendous efforts in promoting culture of peace by the nominees, adding that the nominees were picked based on researches and investigations made after their nominations.
According to the Chairman, the nominees include Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State, Governor Babagana Zulum (Borno), Governor Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ojaja II.
Others are Gen. (Amb) T.Y Buratai, Asiwaju Khamis Badmus, HRH Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Rev. Esther Ajayi, Dr. Shaison Ouseph, Hon. Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, Hon. Abiola Makinde, Bar. Pelumi Olajengbesi, Dr. Benjamin Tetteh, Prof. Mahfouz Adedimeji, Hon. Sa’ad Namdas, Hon Auwwal Ibrahim, Amb. Michael Ignatius, Amb. Charles John, and Mr. Rotimi Omotayo.
Other prominent personalities to be inducted as Fellows of the Institute and as World Icon of Peace are HRH Oba (King) Oyelude Makama, Olowu of Kuta, HRH Oba (King) Qomardeen Adeyemi, Olororuwo of Ororuwo Prof. Sunday Abayomi, Dr. Oyeleke Ajiboye, Prof. Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, Mr. Fatai Tijani among others.
Kamiludeen further noted that over twenty Ambassadors of the Institute from around the world will join the event via zoom which would be projected live for the audience in the event’s hall and they shall speak within the context of the theme of the event “Building Sustainable Peace: Goals, Verifications, Strategies
The Chairman stated that event with the theme, ‘Building Sustainable Peace: Goals, Verifications, Strategies’, would have Prof. Moji Bakare-Odunola from University of Ilorin, Prof. Abayomi Sunday, Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Oye-Ekiti, and Dr. Oyeleke Ajiboye as the Speakers while Prof. Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, Prof. Shaison Ouseph from India would be the Contributory Speakers.
