A governorship aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, has announced his withdrawal from the gubernatorial race, AMILOADED reports.
He stated that the reason he stepped down for the governorship primary was because the process leading to the primaries has already been “skewed towards a predetermined outcome”
Ogunbiyi made this known in a letter addressed to the National Chairman of the PDP, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, on Monday.
The letter read, “I wish to formally inform you of my withdrawal from the Osun PDP Gubernatorial Primaries.
“This decision became imperative in view of the fact that the process leading to the primaries is already skewed towards a predetermined outcome despite the various presentations made to the
NWC for a level playing grounds for all the aspirants. As a consequence, I will not be participating in the primaries scheduled for Tuesday, 8th March 2022,” he stated.
Five contestants will now be going to the poll to determine who wins the party ticket for Osun July 16 governorship election.
The five remaining contestants are ; Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, Dele Adeleke, Sanya Omirin, Senator Ademola Adeleke and Prince Dotun Babayemi.
