The former member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Rotimi Makinde has said he joined politics in the interest of the people of Ile-Ife federal constituency, contrary to rumour in some quarters that he ventured into politics for selfish interest.
Describing the speculation as untrue, Makinde in a statement he issued on Wednesday he was hot a pauper before he joined politics as being rumoured.
He said the love of his people forced him to politics sayingbhe had made his wealth before considering politics.
According to him, “I am not a pauper before politics, i joined politics in the interest of my people,not many people even know me as a graduate, i hold MBA in Finance and a graduate since 1991 and with 20 years experience in IN NNPC.
“The love of my people really captured my attention to the extent that I left a very lucrative job to uncertainty terrain of politics.Talking about fame, I have also gotten long before politics as a member of Nollywood with more than 200 movies to my credit.
“It will be ridiculous for some set of people to have the believe that I have no pedigree before venturing into politics, I have spent all my years in politics to serve my people tremendously in all sphere of life through active representation at the federal house of representatives.”
