Adeleke Support Volunteers, a group of Men and women who are majorly Youths and followers of the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke have expressed their will to actualize the vision of the late politician.
According to a statement signed by their convengner, Mr. Olaoluwa Onifade in Ede, the association expressed their shock over the demise of their principal but they however revealed that Senator Adeleke’s death has now been perceived as a motivation and not a source of depression to his numerous followers.
The statement reads in a part, ‘This non-negotiable mandate was birthed in line with the ideologies of our late principal and we are committed to staying true to this.
Consequently, we appeal to all our esteemed volunteers who have committed all within their means, physically, financially and spiritually to our cause to remain steadfast, staunch, resolute and undeterred. As a unit, we need ourselves more than ever in this trying time and as individuals we are counting on everybody.
In pursuance of our goal and in conformity with our principle, I want to inform you all that we would not sit on the sideline during the bye-election that would be conducted according to the electoral law in Nigeria to fill the vacant Osun West Senatorial seat within the next 90 days. As a group of volunteers who rallied together for the betterment of our people’s lot, this bye-election is a test we must not fail at.
It must also be noted that our affiliation with our late principal was based on ideology and it is only based on solid ideology that align with ours and our late principal’s that we would continue to operate.
Once again, I appreciate us all for the unflinching commitment and I want to urge everyone to continue with the spreading of our gospel – the possibility of a better Osun State where everyone has equal right and opportunity.’
Senator Isiaka Adeleke was the first Civilian Governor of Osun State and till his death a second term Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District in the Red chamber and a Governorship aspirant in the forthcoming 2018 Governorship election in Osun State in the ruling All Progressives Congress.
