Tuns Farm is owned by Asiwaju Tunde Badmus who had donated over 20 million naira to the Osun State Government during COVID-19 to curb the effect of the pandemic on residents of the state.

In reaction to the incidence, on behalf of Asiwaju Tunde Badmus, Mr Oyesiku Adelu spoke with AMILOADED Correspondent on Telephone confirming the attack.

“It’s True, hoodlums attack the Tuns farm Warehouse located at Osogbo ikirun Road Dagbolu Area today, they carted with some valuable items, foods both raw and processed bakery items, Chicken etc,” Oyesiku said.

He further called on the security agencies in the state to protect Osogbo, and Osun state in general.

“This is our town and it must be protected”, Oyesiku said.

Taofeek Badmus, the General Manager of Tuns Farm in his response to the situation said in a statement made available to AMILOADED said there was no COVID-19 palliative in its warehouse.

“On behalf of our management we wish to use this medium to set the records straight and dispel the rumors that Ca-Covid palliatives are stored at any of our warehouses.

“Our Chairman Asiwaju Tunde Badmus was appointed as Vice-chairman of the Osun state Covid relief committee whose role was to raise money and relief materials. In his personal capacity, he donated the sum of five million nairas and some relief items. He is well known for his philanthropic gestures which have spanned over decades,” Badmus stated.

He stated that the farm had only provided its warehouse to the Osun State Government free of charge to store mosquito nets.

“While we wish to state that the Osun State Government through the Ministry of Health approached us for the use of our warehouses, two of the warehouses was again given to them free of charge to store mosquito nets which are being shared across the state to prevent the spread of malaria. No single kobo was paid for the usage which is over 4-5 months,” the statement read.

He, however, expressed displeasure over the attack on the farm’s facility while calling for peace to reign in the state.

“It is, therefore, disheartening to have garnered intelligence reports saying our business operations are being targeted, businesses, where over 700 people are direct labour and over 1,500 people, are indirectly working at.

“While we commiserate with the people on the lack of social justice, we equally call for peace, orderliness and calm.

As youths it is up to us not to allow this peaceful agitation to be hijacked, we must restrain ourselves from making this matter worse,” the General Manager stated.
