The Forum of Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Southwest has warned President Muhammadu Buhari and his party, All Progressives Congress, to desist from what it termed unfortunate harrassment, victimization, persecution, illegal impeachment procedures and outright trampling upon the freedom of Governor Orthom of Benue State.
The forum of PDP Southwest chairmen in a statement signed by its Chairman, Hon. Clement Olasoji Adagunodo of Osun State condemned the latest unhealthy political development in Benue State where the APC was accused of spearheading the political crisis in the state.
“The forum expressed disappointment at the way and manner in which the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is being desecrated upon by the APC-led Federal authorities against the laid down rules, procedures and regulations at the slightest provocation in which they always fight dirty whoever that raises a voice against their misrule,” he said.
Adagunodo further warned President Buhari and other APC leaders “to stop driving the country backwards with their undemocratic, dictatorial and unconstitutional brigandage which has done damage to our country’s image than even the era of military regimes.
“The forum of PDP chairmen in the south west condemn the illegality being perpetrated where only eight out of thirty members of the Benue State House Assembly have allowed themselves to be used against the democratic tenet which they all swore to protect.”
The South West PDP chairmen’s forum asked Nigerians to be resolute in their decisions to prevent what they termed anti-democratic system by voting out APC in all the remaining elections in the country starting with Osun State.
