Shekau’s Death Lesson For Igboho, Kanu, Says Adamu Garba

Former Presidential Aspirant, Adamu Garba, says leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu; and popular Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemi well known as Sunday Igboho, should learn from the reported death of nefarious leader of terrorist sect Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau.

An online platform, HumAngle, had reported that Shekau died on Wednesday evening following the invasion of the terror group’s stronghold in the Sambisa forest area by a column of Islamic State West Africa Province fighters.

Shekau, who secretly had a suicide vest on, was also reported to have blown himself up alongside everyone present during the negotiations.

Shekau had been the leader of Boko Haram since 2009 following the death of the group’s founder, Mohammed Yusuf. Before now, he had been rumoured to have been killed at different times.

Reacting, however, in a tweet on Thursday, Garba said he would have preferred that Shekau was stoned to death.

He wrote, “My only concern with Shekau’s death is on him having the liberty to chose how he died. He should have been stoned to death by villagers at Doron Baga Market square on live TV, under the supervision of the Nigerian Military for all to see. That’ll send a message to Kanu & Igboho.”

The PUNCH had earlier reported that Garba said Shekau, Igboho and Kanu were the same.

  1. Shekau and lgboho as well as Kanu are not the same. They are fighting on behalf of their ppl for self governance out of senseless and clueless reign of austerity and vissionless government of Bihari and the Fulani hegemony. I don’t know where in the world that seeking for self rule and determinism has become crime. You statement reflect lack of knowledge and uninformed state of mind you are Mr Adamu. One Nigeria you ppl are clamouring for is nothing but a marriage of inconvenience. You need to considered thousands of ppl Shekau and his cronies av killed, maimed, turn to widows, orphans, widower etc.etc…
The death of Shekau is an act of God. Then, comparing Kanu and I lgboho is like comparing sleep to death. They are just thousand mind apart. Next time, if you don’t know what to say as comment on national issues, keep your month shut.
