..Enjoins constituents against future theft of important government facilities
As part of efforts to make life better for the people, the senator representing Osun West Senatorial District at the Red Chamber, Senator Adelere Oriolowo, has procured and commissioned a new Data Capturing Machine for the National Identification Management Commission (NIMC).
It would be recalled that, the NIMC Data Capturing machine meant for Iwo local government was stolen by hoodlums thereby making the ongoing NIM data capturing for the people of the area difficult as the residents have been struggling for the registration.
As a result of this, Senator Oriolowo had presented a cheque of #1.8Million in January for the procurement of this Machine
Commissioning the machine at City Hall in Iwo, Senator Oriolowo, who described the stolen machine as unfortunate, enjoined the constituents to guard against future theft of important government facilities of such as securing government facilities in each community is a collective duty of all members and residents of such community.
He stated that he decided to procure another machine since the official one own by the agency has been stolen and efforts by the agency to replace it with another one proved abortive thereby creating problem for the residents of the community to register for their National Identification Number (NIN).
According to him, “I don’t want my people to continue to be suffering in registering their NIN and this inform why I decided to procure another one and which we’re commissioning today.
“I appreciate you all for your patience, endurance, humility and love since I assumed the red chamber and I specifically thank Barr Gbadegesin Adedeji for the significant role he played to ensure the procurement of this machine was fastrack,” Senator Oriolowo said.
Speaking at the event, prominent APC leader in the state and one of the apex leader in the senatorial district, Barrister Adedeji Gbadegesin, (the Asiwaju of Iwoland) commended Senator Oriolowo for taking a bold step in purchasing a new data capturing machine for the NIMC in replacement of the one stolen recently in their office in Iwo.
Barr. Gbadegesin urged the residents to take proper care of the equipment to guard against the inconvenience people suffered before getting registered for their NIN.
At the event, Senator Oriolowo was presented his National ID as the machine was put to use with residents of the community now enjoined to visit the office of the commission for their necessary registration process and data capturing.
Dignitaries at the event include the Honourable representing Iwo Constituency at the state House of Assembly, Hon Halil Adebayo Uzamot, State Coordinator of NIMC, Dr Omolara Idah, L.A to the Senate President, Hon Tajudeen Ayofe-Adisa, Iwo local government Council Manager, Alhaji Shittu and other notable political functionaries and community leaders.
