Over 84 million Nigerians will be voting in the forthcoming general elections, but there is no doubt that their choice might be influenced by some personalities, who in no way or the other, determine the direction of the nation’s politics.
They include those who would be contesting the elections as well as some influential political leaders, who are not vying for any position.
Top among them are President Muhammadu Buhari, who is seeking for a second term on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who is the presidential candidate of the main opposition party – Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Others are former President Olusegun Obasanjo; National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; former Military President, General Ibrahim Bababngida; former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar; immediate past president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and former Minister of Defence, General Theophilus Danjuma.
Also on the list are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole; his PDP counterpart, Prince Uche Secondus; Senate President and Director General of Atiku Campaign Organisation, Dr. Bukola Saraki as well as Minister of Transportation and Director General of Buhari Presidential Campaign Organisation, Rotimi Amaechi.
