Dr. Ezekiel Oyebola Oyemomi, one of the leading contestants for the Governorship race under the All Progressive Congress (APC) platform in the State of Osun, has called on Muslims globally, especially those in Osun State to fear God, respect his wishes, let unity be their watchwords.
He asked them to be more tolerant to each other and allow peace to reign as Nigeria develops.
These attributes he believes can lead Nigeria to where it deserves to be.
In a Press Release signed from his Ire de Campaign office in Osogbo, Dr. Ezekiel Oyemomi opined, that irrespective of the nation’s religious differences, the fact remains that people are one before God.
“Also, God is of love, patience and love. We should always look into this and make God happy. Whoever can make God happy will definitely make his fellow human beings happy. Besides this, we are one in unity.”
He stressed further that Muslim faithful should give room for unity and imbibe all the Islamic tenets, most especially as they did during the fasting period.
“We grew up loving and cherishing one another. We have our parents celebrating with others irrespective of their own religion; no chaos. Why must we now allow religion to create unnecessary gap among us? Why must we close our eyes to the plight of our neighbours? We are building a great Nation that will be better for our generations both born and unborn. My prayer is that Nigeria, and mostly the State of Osun should Be a haven of peace and harmony. We have no other place than home’’.
Oyemomi who has started his campaign tour and has visited more than 10 local governments, noted that allowing peace to reign is one of the best way development can be witnessed in a democratic environment.
The Technocrat and former Federal Permanent Secretary who hails from Olugbon Compound, Orile-Owu in Ayedaade Local government of the State of Osun said that the issue of harmony , equity, justice and fair play would be some of the key parts of his core agenda if elected governor of the state.
“I am happy that peace is reigning in the State of Osun,” he said.
