Salary Payment: PDP Fires Back At Oyetola, Says Governor Deceiving Osun Workers

The Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Oyetola-led administration to tender unreserved apologies to the state for “attempting a filthy game of a con man on the people, faking repentance after raping the state to coma”.

The PDP made this known via a statement made available to AMILOADED by the party Publicity Secretary in Osun State, Hon Ayodeji Areola, on Friday.

The statement read, “While describing Mr Oyetola as the most deceptive and untrustworthy state executive in the country, Osun PDP asked the APC Governor to stop deploying his obsolete act of trickery to deceive an highly wired people of Osun State.

“The main opposition party Publicity Secretary, Hon Ayodeji Areola, reacting to a statement purportedly issued by one Ismail Omipidan, defending his failing boss, the PDP warned Mr Oyetola to stop using the whole state to play his party balls, trying hard to dodge his visible complicity in bringing Osun State down to the present miserable state.

“Mr Oyetola as a matter of fact and with all available information, was a large player in slashing workers salaries in the state after years of financial recklessness, capital flight and naked looting of the state’s treasury.

“As a prime driver in the wicked regime of ‘half Salary’, which surged payment of workers’ wages, an hitherto routine government business, into a topical issue of discourse in nation’s polity, Oyetola bears no moral justification dodging responsibility of such wicked act on our people. We maintain as a party that taking the state to such altar of disrepute was insensitive, wicked and outrightly irresponsible.

“It is our candid view that Mr Governor, instead of grieving around over PDP’s chosen style of campaigns, must first accept responsibility for making such a memo dispatchable business of a responsible government, a centre point of political campaigns in the state. Had Oyetola and his clueless colleagues in government been alive to their primary tasks in government, nobody would remember to campaign on a premise of salary payment.

“When a government became so inept to the point of refusing to offset a backlog of more than 30months of workers wages, aside unpaid pensions and gratuities to retirees, most of whom are now aged, the PDP cannot but talk about it because such development was not only strange but unimaginable.

“As a party that governed the state for over seven years without a record of default on salary payment to workers, who we regarded as pivotal to sustaining a PAYE driven economy, we were miffed at a strange regime that would not respect simple contractual terms of acruals of workers sweat. Hence, the obligated baton of our party, bringing it to the consciousness of what appears like a deaf and dumb Apc administration.

“We want to remind Mr governor that Osun State is not one of his personal estates, where he was packaged to have amassed some invisible wealth higher than economic balance sheet of Osun State. Therefore, lamenting profusely whenever he’s called to duty from his sleep, is grossly unstatemanlike, ungubernatorial and sorely evasive.

“We find it amusing that Oyetola-led administration has been trying hard to dissociate itself from the ruinous policies and programs of his former boss, Rauf Aregbesola. Although this is a topic for another day, but such signal to us as a party and to say the least, is an act of unbridled cowardice of an unweaned neophyte, who will definitely turn around to stab the state in in the back after feeding him and his family from our common patrimony.

“Mr Governor has failed as a reliable partner even within his APC house of commotion. Therefore, trusting him further with the seat of governance in the state is akin to murdering self dignity of the state.

“It is on record that Mr Oyetola was openly described as the “brain box” of the immediate past administration as Chief of Staff to his leader, which implies that most of the strange policies he’s now trying to feign ignorance or run away from were hatched on his table, the PDP argued.

“Yes, we are not surprised that Mr governor as a “Lagos Boy”, is attempting a smart one on us as a people, but he should be bold enough to first take responsibility, apologize and cause refund of all the billions of Naira wasted on those useless policies.

“All the abandoned projects on which several billions of Naira have been wasted while Mr Oyetola served as COS, a close confidant of his leader, the immediate past governor of the state, must also be accounted for before he begins to feign prudence and probity. Osun is miles ahead of such fraudulent tricks and the earlier he takes this in, the better.

“We want to assure the Oyetola-led APC administration in the state that we are not perturbed by fangs of their threats. We won’t pity their consitent sobbing too. No, won’t!

“Our main concern as major stakeholders in the affairs of Osun State is that the people bearing the brunt of inept Apc administration are bonafide indigenes of Osun State, who have no other place to call their home. This is unlike Mr governor and his spokespersons, who have Lagos as the first home and Osun as mere market arena where they do their fleecing trades and elope back to base,” the party stated.
