Makinde described the death as a great loss to this generation and to Tinubu’s family.
The former lawmaker said “Not many would live to be born by the like of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and bother to go to school, not just with enormous prestige of the family, he (Jide) attended not just a school but Liverpool University England; not just education but a graduate of not just any course but prestigious law.”

The statement further reads,”someone from our generation has passed away. If the death is unexpected, there may be loose ends in the relationship that have not been dealt with. It is common that a death of such a young person draw us closer to God.
“If it was about a struggle with power and money, he probably would be here with us but it’s not even about quoting the law or having the dough to hire the best of the SAN. When death came calling, he never lookes the left or right to know whose goons is to be affected.
“If it is by the might and how generous or love his father is, death would have definitely adjourned it’s ruling for another day. Barrister Jide dropped at his bus stop and bid us bye bye. We may therefore have to choose this grief period of ours to ask ourselves if we are accomplishing the goals that we have set for ourselves.
“Sadly, Jide is gone, gone for good but his memory shall continue to live in mind. May the good Lord continue to be with the Tinubu’s family. Adieu Jide!” Makinde mourned.
