A member of the House of Representatives representing Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Orangun Constituency in Osun State, Clement Ademola Akanni (Olohunwa), has held a town hall meeting with his constituents in the state.
Olohunwa, who held the meeting with the support of YIAGA Africa, also empowered the constituents from the three Local Government Areas within the constituency.
Speaking at the event, the lawmaker expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and reiterated his dedication to serving the people.
Olohunwa, who reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises and listening to the voices of constituents, outlined his ‘Service Agenda’, which focuses on purposeful representation, capacity building, community development, and partnerships for development.
He also provided updates on his activities since taking office, including appointing statutory aides from the constituency to maintain strong ties with the people.
Olohunwa, who lauded the support from various stakeholders, including party leaders and traditional rulers, thanked YIAGA Africa for facilitating the event and assured constituents that their concerns would be addressed through actionable strategies.
Also speaking the event, the coordinator of YIAGA Africa, Dr Sam Oluje, said the group’s support for the programme aligns with its mission to promote democracy in Africa and provide a platform for legislators to be accountable to their constituents about their activities.
A beneficiary, Abdulqudus Oyeniyi, appreciated Olohunwa for his initiative, describing it as a life-changing experience.
The event also featured the empowerment of 1,000 farmers with N20,000 each, aiming to boost the constituency’s economy through agriculture.
