Ramadan: Saka-Layonu SAN Congratulates Muslims, Preaches Good Neighborliness

As Muslims commence fasting and other spiritual deeds in the holy month of Ramadan, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Alhaji Ismail Saka-Layonu (SAN), has congratulated Muslims globally.

The Ede-born politician made the felicitations through a statement on Monday night, after the crescent was sighted by the National Moonsighting Committee, urging Muslims to utilize the highly spiritual month to seek Allah’s goodness and mercies.

According to him, Nigerians and indeed Nigeria as a country are going through a critical moment which requires Allah’s intervention particularly about the security and economic challenges confronting the country.

“We must equally be our brother’s keeper especially by supporting the poor and other vulnerable members of the society as contained in the teachings of Ramadan.

“Making material and moral provisions for those in need around us is prominent among lessons of this holy month, it is not just about ignoring food and drinks during the day. Allah uses the fast to give us a first-hand knowledge about the agony of the poor and why we should in our individual and collective capacities make the world a better place for all.

“I hereby congratulate fellow Muslim brothers across Osun including our fortunate Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, chieftains and members of our great party, (APC) over the annual holy month of Ramadan. The statement read in part.
