Politicians have been charged to practice politics with the fear of God and have the interest of the masses at heart, as only these would let peace reign in the country.
Prominent Lagos prince and the Chairman of the Elders’ Forum of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Tajudeen Olusi gave the charge during the 4th Ramadan Lecture Organized by his foundation, Prince Tajudeen Olusi Foundation.
In his statement after receiving several accolades showered on him at the event, the elder statesman advised politicians to be humble as any political office holder that breed hooliganism or encourage any form of indecent lifestyle in the societies is not a good leader
The astute politician who made reference to the legend politicians, Mahatma Ghandi (of India) and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, said these two persons and many others are remembered always for what they did while alive, which according to him, the fear of God formed the foundation of all they did.
Also speaking at the event, The Deputy Governor, State of Osun, Mr. Benedict Gboyega Alabi, who was the Special Guest of Honour praised the forthright attitude of Prince Olusi, while urging politicians to emulate his leadership skills and political ideology.
He appreciated the planing committee and the Foundation’s executives for organizing such a befitting event, especially when the Political gladiator is still alive.
In his lecture titled “Amaana” which means “Trust”, Imam (Engr.) Shakirudeen Gafar (Mofesaye) disclosed that all political office holders are in position of trust and they must always work towards promoting this stance so as not to face the wrath of the God.
