Police Drag Husband To Court For Allegedly Killing Wife, Baby In Osun


The Osun State Police Command on Tuesday dragged one Michael Adunola and a woman, Atinuke Olawoyin, to appear before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife, for allegedly killing his wife and baby.

Amiloaded gathered that Adunola and his accomplice were accused of killing Esther, his wife, and Glory, his daughter said to be 14-months-old.

Amiloaded had earlier reported on May 27, that two headless bodies suspected to be mother and child were found around Isale Agbara Area of Ile Ife.

According to the Police prosecutor, Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 23, 2020, around 12 noon at Ile-Ife.

Osanyintuyi said that the accused conspired with a friend and murdered his wife and baby.

The Prosecutor disclosed that the accused unlawfully killed Esther and Glory and cut off their heads and hands.

He stressed that the offences committed were said to contravene Sections 242, 319(1), and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.

Amiloaded learnt that because of the nature of the case, the pleas of the accused were not taken.

In her ruling, Magistrate Muhibah Olatunji told the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and send it to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution at the State Ministry of Justice for legal advice.

She however ordered that the accused be remanded in Ilesa Nigerian Correctional Centre and adjourned the matter till July 28, for mention.
