Jemimah Marcus, a 17-year old student of Angus Memorial Secondary School in Somolu presided over the State Executive Council meeting as the one-day Governor of Lagos State on Monday.
The state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, announced this via his Facebook page, where he shared photos of the meeting.
Marcus became the one-day governor by winning the 2020 edition of the Lagos State Spelling Bee Competition.
Speaking about the council meeting, Sanwo-Olu said, “I am delighted to say that the competition has been achieving its desired vision and objectives. The organisers will follow up on Jemimah’s endeavour to ensure she acquires the right leadership skills and becomes a responsible citizen of Nigeria.
“I accepted the request of our one-day Governor that government should make more investment in education and human capital development. As a government we are already doing that and we will continue to do more.”
