The joy of over one thousand five hundred residents of Gbongan in Ayedaade local government Area of Osun state knew no bound after they benefited from this year’s edition of the annual free health and wellness fair organized by a Gbongan Prince and a senatorial aspirant under the Action Democratic Party, ADP in Osun West Senatorial District, Omooba Dotun Babayemi which was flagged off today.
Put together under the supervision of Favour Kindness and Grace foundation, the free health and wellness fair afforded the young and the old the opportunity to know their health status and get treated.
Speaking at the programme,the facilitator,omooba Babayemi explained that the healthy living of his people is paramount to him,hence his resolve to make the programme an annual exercise.
The philanthropist cum politician said that many people might have lived longer if the wealthy in the society are committed to humanitarian service.
According to him ailments like,typhoid, malaria,diabetes and high blood pressure are deadly but manageable a demonstration of what he is doing through the free health and wellness fair.
Omo oba Babayrmi called on individuals to take their health as paramount and abstain from self medication.
The Gbongan prince maintained that besides Gbongan his country home,the ten local governments that make up osun west district have been scheduled as usual to benefit from the free health programme.
He explained that trained medical experts,including ophthalmologists, and others in specialized fields have been employed to attend to people health challenges.
Some of those who benefitted from the free health wellness fair, including Mr Ewuola Babatunde and Sulatu Lateef appreciated omoooba Dotun Babayemi for always remembering the less privileged in the scheme of things.
They recalled the last phase of the free health and wellness fair where the Action Democratic party stalwart foot the bill of some patients who were operated upon at the Eye Foundation Ijebu mushin in Ogun state and the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Ile Ife.
Mr Babatunde And Mrs. Lateef prayed God to shower his favour upon omooba Dotun Babayemi.
Speaking in the same vien was a leader of Action Democratic party in Gbongan, Elder Jekayinfa,who said that omooba Babayemi is not only a pride to Gbongan but Osun state as a whole.
He said Babayemi has demonstrated kindness and concern for the less privileged through the free health and wellness fair.
The train of the free health and wellness fair will move round the ten local government areas of Ayedaade,Irewole,Isokan,Ejigbo,Ede South,Ede North, Egbedore, Ayedire,Iwo and Ola-Oluwa for the next two weeks.
