Women farmers’ desire to flood Osun state with varying agricultural produces have been encouraged as a Non-Governmental Organisation, Ilerioluwa Development Initiative embarked on disbursement of loans to them.
During the first batch of the loan disbursement, the president of the initiative, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, the first lady of Osun state said the aim of the organisation is to work towards improving the agricultural sector in the state in a way that will diversify the economy of state.
Flagging off the distribution of cheque to beneficiaries of the first batch, Mrs Oyetola said the loan is aimed to increase the production of agricultural produce in state of Osun adding that beneficiaries of the loan were drawn on equal basis from the three senatorial zones of the state.
The beneficiaries therefore showered thanks on the President of Ilerioluwa Oluwa Development Initiative for being sensitive to the yearnings of the women in agriculture and the state at large.
The Chairman, All Farmer Association Of Nigeria Osun Chapter, Mr Kayode Afolabi said the fulfillment of the NGO support would go a long way in strengthening food production and also empower the female farmers the do more in agricultural sector.
Afolabi appreciated the gesture of the NGO profusely stressing that the loans would assist in ending poverty in the state.
The President of the NGO therefore urged the women farmers to use the loan given to them judiciously for agricultural purposes.
