Supporters of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday clashed in Ido Osun during the APC Rally for the Osun West Senatorial By-Election.
As soon as the campaign train got to the town in Egbedore Local Government of Osun State, members of the two parties in the town engaged in a free for all.
According to investigation by Amiloaded, the clash was said to have been as a result of a retaliatory step taken by the APC Members on attacks on them during the PDP Campaign in the town.
The clash hampered the process of the rally as the array of APC dignitaries and their senatorial candidate had No choice to move on when the situation was going beyond control.
Eyewitness account reveal that efforts by Elder Peter Babalola and other party leaders to calm the two sides proved abortive.
The fracas was invaded by some political thugs which left some members of both parties severely injured.
A resident of the town who confided in our crew said the incident espoused the frosty atmosphere of the area especially when it is ten days to the By-Election.
It is however unclear what manner of events will unfold as the July 8 polls is ten days away.
