The Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Bashiru, has declared his support for the re-election of Governor Gboyega Oyetola ahead of the 2022 governorship election in Osun State, AMILOADED reports.
Basiru made the declaration in Osogbo, the state capital on Monday, saying the governor has done well to be re-elected.
The genitor stated that with his relationship with governor, he would ensure that Oyetola secure the ticket of the APC for a second term in office.
He added that Osun Central Senatorial District has benefitted immensely from Governor Oyetola’s administration, noting that the people would support him.
“I have my own Aspirant who is Governor Gboyega Oyetola and he would succeed during the primary,” Senator Bashiru said.
While speaking on the proliferation and illegal possession of firearms across Nigeria, the Senator said the bill would soon see the light of the day, adding that there would no delay in the passage of the bill
He noted that the bill is currently at the committee stage, saying it will help to curb criminal activities and insecurity in the country when passed.
Senator Bashiru who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Publicity, said, “I am in full support of the bill and if passed it will assist the country to reduce and possibly put a stop to criminal activities in the country.”
