Osun Poll: Adeleke Explains How To Realise 6-Point Agenda At Townhall Meeting, Fields Questions (Read)

The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke has attended a townhall meeting where he articulated his 6-point agenda ahead of the Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

The meeting was attended by various stakeholders in the state including men ,women, youths and children among other organisations that asked Adeleke questions on his plans and programmes for them if elected as next governor.

Senator Adeleke took his time to address all the questions he was asked after explaining how to realise his 6-point agenda.

On Pension issues,  he said “failure by this present administration to to pay pensioners their entitlements is a sin before God and for any government in power. Therefore, PDP government under me will rectify the situation and ensure that pensioners receive their entitlements as and when due and live a happy and fulfilled life.”

For Education, he said the state of education sector in the state is appalling saying “education is acknowledged to be dead all round in Osun State. Same school uniform will be cancelled in our primary and secondary schools. Lautech issue will be attended to promptly to save precarious situation of the University. As Senator, within just over a year ago, I have sponsored a platform to provide computer training and computer accessories for our teachers which underlines my love for education. By the grace of God, PDP government under my leadership will revive education in Osun State.”

Discussing Health, the candidate of PDP said, “Health sector will receive adequate attention as well, in order to correct dilapidated health sector in the State. All local government headquarters will have a standard health center at least, across the State. Our people will begin to receive good drugs to enhance as it used to be under PDP administration. A sound mind in a sound body is required for now in our State. We can’t afford to allow our people die like fowls anymore. Enough is enough.

Speaking on payment of tax by proprietors of Private Schools, Adeleke said,  “all the burdensome tax regime on private schools across the State will be reviewed as soon as we get into government. Our Government will work with the private school owners to train and enhance capacity of their staff for the benefit our children.

On the recently created Local Councils Development Areas,  LCDA, the lawmaker said,  “all LCDA created by the present administration will be improved upon to serve the real purpose of driving good governance closer to the people. There’s no need scraping them as government is continuum. The O’Yes scheme will also be redirected as to bring about dignity to our teeming youths engaged in the scheme.

On Road construction, he said,  “the present state of our roads is disheartening. Our roads will therefore receive radical attention devoid of present level of propaganda under this administration.”

For agriculture, Adeleke said,  “subsistence farming will first of all be encouraged to feed our people and thereafter move to mechanised farming to boost the State economy. Our real farmers shall receive maximum from our govt support across the State.”
