Osun PDP Guber Primary Underway As 3,439 Delegates Cast Ballots For 4 Aspirants

The primary of the Osun state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is underway.

About 3,439 delegates are presenty casting their ballots to elect the party flagbearer for the September 22 governorship election among the four aspirants jostling for the ticket.

The aspirants are Senator Ademola Adeleke, Barr N. O. Oke,  Dr Akin Ogunbiyi and Alhaji Fatai Akinbade.

A former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Adejare Bello, had this morning announced his withdrawal in the governorship race under the party.

Against the direct primaries adopted by the APC, the PDP is using the delegate system.

The exercise holding in Osogbo is being chaired by the governor of Bayelsa state, Seriake Dickson alongside former governor of Niger state, Muazu Babaangida Aliyu.
