The newly inaugurated executive members of Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria (FTAN) in Osun State have been charged to support the state government in projecting Osun as a center of tourism among the comity of states in Nigeria.

Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in the state, Hon. Dr. Adebisi Obawale gave the charge recently in Osogbo at the inauguration of FTAN Executives by the Vice President South West of FTAN, Otunba Ayo Olumoko FITPN.

Obawale noted that the state government recently launched Osun Tourism Master Plan in order to expand the economic base of the state in the short and long term basis.

Earlier in his speech, the South-West Vice President of FTAN, Otunba Ayo Olumoko said the Federation is an umbrella body for Culture, Arts, Entertainment, Hospitality, Travels and Tourism-related trades in the country.

He appealed to the newly inaugurated executives to work with sincerity of purpose, honesty and in unity in the interest of the industry stakeholders.

Olumoko stressed that Osun FTAN must work with the state government and bring all the stakeholders under one umbrella for understanding of her policies and how it affects their businesses and trade in Osun State.

In his acceptance speech, the State Coordinator of Osun FTAN, Mr. Ladun Fabiyi appreciated Otunba Ayo Olumoko for the trust reposed in him and his colleagues. He promised to do all within his power to take the association in the state to a greater height.

In their separate goodwill messages, Rev (Mrs) Margaret Bola Fabiyi (Mama Webisco) and Mr. Olusola Ajala charged the new executives to let the world know that Osun is blessed with many tourist sites and work effectively in order to bring lives to many moribund sites therein.
