The Minority Leader of Osun State House of Assembly and honourable representing Ife East State Constituency, Hon. Akinwale Akinwole (Omilaj) , has congratulated Dr. Ademola Adeleke on his emergence as the flag bearer of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the bye-election of Osun West Senatorial District coming up on July 8th, 2017. The election is billed to fill the vacant seat of Late Sen. Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke who died on 23rd of April, 2017.
In his congratulatory message he signed personally, the Minority Leader described the candidature of Dr. Adeleke as a round peg in the round hole, which is the best for the party in order to continue the good legacy of the Late Sen. Isiaka Adeleke.
His words, “I sincerely congratulate Dr. Ademola Adeleke for being duly elected as the candidate of PDP in Osun West Senatorial Bye-Election, which is the best for our dear party at this crucial time. The legacy of Late Sen. Isiaka Adeleke must not die with him. So, the party has deemed it fit to put forward a competent man who will build on the good work of the late icon, which can best be described as the round peg in the round hole”.
“I must sincerely commend the effort of the State Chairman of the party Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo, the State Working Committee, Party Elders and major stakeholders in the struggle for a rancour free party primaries which was successfully achieved.
This is a testimony to the fact that the leadership of Olasoji Adagunodo is on the right path to lead the party to the White House of Abere in 2018 gubernatorial election. I cannot do without appreciating the National Secretary of our party, Prof. Wale Oladipo for his doggedness and commitment towards this course”.
Furthermore and very importantly , I salute the spirit of sportsmanship and love for the party displayed by Sen. Olasunkami Akinlabi and Col. Olayiwola Falabi, who were leading contenders for the party’s ticket before the defection of Dr. Ademola Adeleke to PDP from APC. Their names have been written in gold in the history of Osun PDP for giving maximum respect to the supremacy of the party”.
“Conclusively, I charge all Party Leaders, Stakeholders and all party faithfuls in Osun State to do everything possible to reach out to any aggrieved persons in the party, especially in Osun West Senatorial District, as all hands must be on deck for the challenge ahead of us. We can move mountains only if we work together in unity.
Also, I enjoin the aggrieved group in the party who are weighing the option of joining another political party to please embrace peace, where two brothers fight to death, the stranger inherits the land.
They should please for the sake of our common interest which is to wrestle power from APC in 2018 and 2019 respectively join the moving train of the party led by Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo.
This coming bye-lection is a litmust test to the gubernatorial election in 2018, we have no excuse not to win this election judging by the level of support our great party has enjoyed from mass of our people in the senatorial district. This I’m sure, will send strong signals to the ruling APC that their time is up to vacate seat of governance in Osun State.
