Osun @ 26: Time Is Now For The New Generation To Take Charge -Kayode Oduoye

Osun governorship hopeful and a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Dr. Kayode Oduoye, has congratulated the people, present and past administrations in Osun state on the occasion of its 26th anniversary, saying time has come for the younger generation to take over reins and lead Osun to the next level of development.

He said in the last 26 years of its existence, Osun has no doubt, gone through both the good and bad times. While admitting that certain foundations for prosperity has been laid, he also noted that many errors had been committed along the line.

The business man cum politician in a press release by his media office on Sunday said the dream of a just and prosperous Osun state, where all public institutions will be good enough to provide runway out of poverty through quality service to the people, has clearly been eroded.

He said, while some good dreams of the Osun’s founding fathers are still on their way to fulfilment, the younger generation must take the bull by the horn, and seize the initiative to redirect the derailing ship of Osun back to a harbor of fulfilment and prosperity.

Promising that if given the opportunity, his wealth of experience in the cooperate world and string of successes as a business man will be handy in dealing with the peculiar situation Osun has found itself, Oduoye said the state should not be left to further drift off economic stability.

The statement reads: “This occasion of 26th anniversary of the creation of Osun state calls for celebrations, though the hunger ravaging the land has taken so much strength out of our people, subsequenty making celebrating Osun on its ‘birthday’ a Herculean task.

“That notwithstanding, Dr. Kayode Oduoye remain resolute in his commitment to see Osun exit the quagmire, and steadily reach the peak of its potentials and serve as a spring providing succor to both the natives and the visitors.”
