The Senior Special Assistant to Osun State Governor on Special Duties and Regional Integration, Hon. Samson Owoyokun, has vowed that the state governor, Gboyega Oyetola, will get an overwhelming support from Ijesa sons and daughters in the gubernatorial elections of 2022, AMILOADED reports.
Owoyokun, however, assured the people that ongoing transformational and developmental agenda of Oyetola’s administration will not be truncated.
The governor’s aide made the statement at the APC Secretariat in Isokun in Ilesa West Local Government area of the state where he celebrated with elderly women to commemorate this year International Women’s and Mother’s Day respectively.
“Nothing whatsoever is too much or big to celebrate our mothers for the significant roles they have and are playing in our lives, he equally lauded the contribution of Osun First Lady to the success of the event,” Owoyokun said.
The governor’s aide used the occasion to highlight the achievements of Oyetola in office since November 2018 and admonished all the women present to publicize the good works of the government for the reelection of Oyetola to continue implementing the lofty ideas that would showcase Osun as a preferred destination in Agriculture, education, health, commerce.
He added that “Ijesaland must reciprocate the good gestures of Mr. Governor in 2022 with mouthwatering votes for his reelection”.
Also speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Remi Omowaiye, appealed to APC members to remain unshaken in their resolve to support Gboyega Oyetola’s administration.
He further itemized all the policies of the government and his personal interventions to bring smiles to faces of people within and outside his local government.
Omowaiye made reference to the reconstruction of the burnt Atakumosa market embarked upon by Oyetola, saying the road reconstruction will soon start on the Ada – Ibokun – Idominasi road.
No fewer than one hundred and sixty women went home with gift packaged by Samson Owoyokun, with items such as cash, clothing material, foodstuff, KN95 nose mask.
Speaking on behalf of all the beneficiaries, Madam Bose Asagidigbi applauded Owoyokun for choosing to identify with women and prayed for God’s guidance for him and the governor.
Political leaders present at the event include Hon. Ademola Phillip, Hon. Olabode Segun, Hon. Benson, Hon. Taiwo Ogunmokun, Hon. Bode, Hon. Kola Obeta and the women leaders of Ilesa West LG and Ilesa West Central LCDA.
