Iwo youths under the aegis of Iwo Right United Democrat (IRUD) on Monday staged a solidarity rally for Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, an All Progressive Congress (APC) aspirants in Sept. 22 governorship election.
The youths, in their hundreds, with Oyetola’s banners and posters started the rally from Ori-eru junction in Iwo through other parts of the town.
Speaking with newsmen during the rally, Mr Yekini Olaide, the coordinator of the forum said the youths of the town were ready to support ‘ Ileri Oluwa ‘ to achieve his governorship ambition.
Olaide, who is an indigene of Iwo said Oyetola’s political experience stood him out among all other aspirants.
He said he was not in any way in support of zoning arrangement, adding that Oyetola should allow to continue with Aregbesola’s good legacies.
He said, ” We organise this solidarity rally to show our support for Ileri Oluwa because he is the man for the job.
” We believe in his integrity, capacity and political experience which we believe will enable him to continue with Aregbesola’s developmental legacies.
” We are ready to support him and we will stand by him to achieve his ambition come Sept. 22.
” We don’t believe in any zoning arrangement but rather we believe in the intellectual capacity of those who can steer the affair of the state successfully.
“And we believe ‘ Ileri Oluwa ‘ is the right man and that is why we are supporting him”.
Another member of the forum at the rally, Mrs Aminat Kadir, said the people of the town were in full support of Ileri Oluwa.
Kadir said that Ileri Oluwa is the best for the job, adding that both the old and the young Iwo indigenes are behind him.
” We are happy to associate with Ileri Oluwa and we are ready to support his governorship ambition.
” We are not part of the zoning arrangement but rather we believe in the man who can do the job and that man is Oyetola”, Kadir said.
