Osogbo Development Action Group To Hold Annual Get-together On Boxing Day

Youths of the ancient city of Osogbo under the aegies of Osogbo Development Action Group (ODAG), will on December 26, this year hold their 3rd annual get-together at Osogbo City Hall, Olonkoro area of Osogbo at 10:00am.

According to a release jointly signed by the group’s Coordinator, Secretary and Publicity Secretary, ODAG Babatunde Waheed, ODAG Adelu Mutiu and ODAG Ibrahim Muslihudeen respectively and made available to Amiloaded correspondent,  the event would also feature discussions on the theme of the get-together: “Proffering Curative Mechanism to the Effects of Thuggery and Cultism on Security and Education in Osogbo and Nigeria as a Whole.”

The release noted that the annual programme is gared towards enhancing community development, engaging youths resourcefully, and promoting community mutual relationship in Osogbo and it environs.

The Lead paper entitled: “Extirpating Insecurity and Political Thuggery Through Community Policing and Public Awareness,” would be delivered by the Chairman, Osun State Police Community Relations Committee, Comrade Amitolu Shittu.

 Other discussants at the event include the Commissioner of Police in Osun State, CP Fimihan Adeoye and the Osun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.

The Second Speaker, Dr. (Mrs) Adepeju Adigun, Dean Students Affairs, Osun State University, Osogbo would bear her mind on the topic: “Restoration of Parental Roles in the Child Upbringing as a Model for Peer Group Influence.”

 While the third Speaker is an Osogbo born legal expert, Barrister Ayo Faniyi (Lagos) who shall be doing justice to the topic: “How Politicians’ Interference with Judicial Processes on Criminal Cases Involving Thuggery  and Cultism can be Suppressed.”

Meanwhile, the special guests, personalities and participants expected to grace this year event include the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Oyetunji Olanipkeun, O P U National President, Otunba Titi Laoye Tomori, Deputy Governor, State of Osun, Osun House of Assembly member, Community Leaders, Executive Secretaries, Heads of Compounds, Academics, Professionals, Heads of Government Ministries, Agencies and Parastatals, Political Parties Representatives, All indigenous groups, Clubs, Unions & Associations, Members of NURTW, RTEAN, AKOMORON among others.
