Online Media Practitioners Congratulate New Exco Of Osun NUJ

Osun Online Media Practitioners of Nigeria(OOMPA), has congratulated the newly elected officers of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osun State Council over their victory and tasked them to transform the union.

 

The association, in a congratulatory message issued and made available to AMILOADED by OOMPA chairman elect and Public Relations Officer elect, Jare Ismahil Tiamiyu and Comrade Tunde Bright Olorungbotemi respectively described the election as peaceful.

 

The online practitioners also commended members of the union for conducting themselves peacefully during the poll.

 

“We Congratulate our comrade and mentor, Kehinde Ayantunji for your success at the polls and we are particularly pleased that your election came through a peaceful democratic process, we are really happy not only for you but also for the entire body of journalists in Osun state,” the message reads. 

 

OOMPA said the credible conduct of the election was an indication that Nigerian journalists have real democratic instincts in them which is worthy of emulation.

 

“The peaceful conduct of the Osun NUJ election is also a clear indication that Nigerian journalists are determined to walk the talk, practising the ideal they preach daily through their writings, and presentation on air.

  

“This is what Osun journalists have just done and we want to especially commend them for this lofty achievement. Indeed, your conduct is worthy of emulation.

 

“It’s also heartwarming to hear that the newly elected Chairman in his speech vowed to ensure accountability and transparency, which are the rare ingredients in our normal polite today,” the message added.

 

The members of the OOMPA also called on those who lost out in the election to cooperate and work together with the new executives to move the journalism profession forward in the state of Osun.

 

“The goal should be continuous improvement of the profession and advancement in the welfare of its practitioners.

 

“Once again, we congratulate the new Osun NUJ Chairman, Kehinde Ayantunji and other executive members and we congratulate all journalists in Osun on this successful and peaceful democratic process,” OOMPA said.
