One person was feared killed and many were injured in a bloody clash between two rival groups in Ejigbo area in Osun State on Monday evening.
AMILOADED gathered that fight broke out around 8:30pm on Monday when the two factional groups identified as The Lion Base Youth Club and Isale Agooji Youth Club engaged in a supremacy battle against each other.
According to an eyewitness who lives in the community, Mr. Ridwan Ojetola said: “They are fighting over supremacy. At times, they may just block the road and be demanding money from people.
“The cause of this fight occurred when a member Isale Agooji Youth Club seized a motorcycle belonging to a member of the other club. As a result, the man reported the scene to his members which resulted to a violence attack and one person was reportedly killed while many were injured. They even blocked the roads”
When AMILOADED contacted the Spokesperson of Osun State Police Command, Opolala Yemisi, She confirmed that the two rival groups fought over supremacy, adding that one person has been killed.
She said:”On 28th December, 2020, two factions of cultists fought over supremacy in Ejigbo area in Osun State. Today at exactly 7:45am, a complainant identified as Adifare Mutiu from Oke-Oda Compound in Ejigbo, came to the station to complain that someone killed his younger brother. His younger brother name is Habeeb Adifarin. He was murdered in Orieru area in Ejigbo. His left hand was cut off.”
The Police spokesperson added that the police have deposited the corpse to Adeeyo Mortuary in Ejigbo for autopsy.
She further stated that more policemen have been deployed to Ejigbo to help the situation, adding that efforts are ongoing to get those involved arrested.
