The Arole Oduduwa & Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, on Friday night returned from the seven days seclusion exercise he embarked upon as part of the activities marking his year’s Olojo festival.
Upon his appearance in the public, the revered monarch was welcomed by a cheering crowd at his Oodua palace in Ile-Ife.
Briefing his subjects on what he did while jb seclusion, Ooni Ogunwusi said he prayed for Ife sons and daughters, the Yoruba race and the entire humanity.
Describing his journey as a core spiritual exercise, the traditional ruler revealed that he fasted and prayed.
He told the people that “tonight, I will give you keys towards receiving heavenly blessings and all round breakthrough. It is fasting and prayers to the Most High God.
“I implore you to fast according to your strength as a person and back it up with the request of all you need in prayers and leave God to do the rest.
“During the just concluded seclusion exercise, I had the privilege of seeing the world beyond and I can assure you that the good God is ever ready and willing to help only if we ask.” Ooni who is the spiritual head of the Yoruba race admonished.
On the ongoing Olojo festival, the Ooni urged participants to celebrate with caution and be mindful of the fact that COVID-19 has not been completely defeated.
“Let’s not forget that we’re in the phase of defeating COVID-19 and that is why we must not loose guards, let’s wear our face masks and observe personal hygiene and it shall be well with us.” The Ooni added.
The event was attended by top dignitaries including traditional rulers, nollywood actors/actresses, politicians and top Ife indigenes including Sir Alex Duduyemi among others.
