NGO Sensitises Osun West Residents On Need To Shun Violence During Poll In Osun

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Kimpact Development Initiative has partnered with another NGO, to organise a sensitisation rally for residents of Osun West Senatorial District on the need to be violence-free before, during and after the September 22nd governorship election in Osun state.

It was a very exciting moment In Iwoland on Thursday when the NGOs arrived in their numbers to hold the sensitization and orientation for voters on the need to have a violence free election.

The rally started at Iwo local government secretariat enroute sabo, Junction Osogbo and came to an end at Oluwo Palace.

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi endorsed the programme and gave his blessing to it.

The monarch further urged the NGO to ensure that they have a very substantial alternative to replace the act if the gospel of exonerating people from election vices will be well achieved.

Addressing participants at the rally, the coordinator of Kimpact, Mr Bukola Idowu stated the need for voters to abstain from any illegal act that can restrain the efficient process of the election.

Mr. Idowu appreciated Oluwo’s efforts and the people of Iwoland.

He said the people warmly received them adding that it was a signal that election would be peaceful in the district.
