Osun State Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, has ordered the State Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode, to ensure the immediate release of the founder of Ero Arike, Alhaja Falilat Adegboyega, AMILOADED reports.
It would be recalled that Alhaja Falilat was arrested on Thursday by operatives of the Osun State Police Command over malicious damage of properties of some individuals in Iragbiji in the Boripe Local Government Area of the state.
She was, however, charged to court on Friday and was remanded until January 17, 2022.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that Governor Oyetola upon his arrival into the state on Saturday, expressed displeasure over the development as he ordered the Osun State Commissioner to ensure the immediate release of the Ero Arike’s founder.
It was further learnt that Alhaja Falilat is expected regain freedom upon resumption of courts after Christmas holiday on Wednesday as the State Police Command was said to have held a meeting with the suspect’s counsel, Mr Ugwu Nwoke.
Speaking on the development, Nwoke disclosed that Governor Oyetola’s intervention has been a promising one, saying, “Yes, I’m aware that the Governor has interest in her release and he has directed that. I’m also part of the discussion around it and hopefully, she will be released on Wednesday.”
