Man In Court For Robbing Petrol Station In Osun, Carting Away N1.2M

The Osun State Police On Monday dragged a 22-year-old man, Tunde Agbaje, before an Osun State Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo for allegedly robbing a petrol station.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Temitope Fatoba told the court that the accused person and others still at large robbed a Bovas Filling station, on August 13, 2020, around 9:10 pm at Agunbelewo Osogbo, the state capital of Osun.

It was alleged that the accused person and others still at large armed themselves with guns and other dangerous weapons, robbed one Ademola Omitogun, the manager of Bovas Filling Station of N1,200,000.

He further alleged that the accused persons conspired among themselves to commit felony to wit armed robbery.

According to him, the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under Section 6(b) and Section 1(1)(2)(a)(b) of the Robbery Firearms (special provision) Act Cap Rll Vol.14 Laws of Federation of Nigeria 2004.

The plea of the accused was not taken by the court and also had no legal representation.

While ruling, Magistrate Isola Omisade ordered that the accused person be remanded at Ilesa Correctional Center.

He, however, adjourned the case till November 16, 2020, for mentioning
