Looters Return Stolen Items, Seek For Forgiveness (Photos)

Some people that allegedly participated in the looting of items during the vandalisation of warehouses under the guise of looking for palliatives have returned the items in their possession and sought forgiveness, the Plateau State Government has said.

According to a statement in Jos on Tuesday by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Government House, Macham Makut, the repentant persons were led to the Government House by popular evangelist of the Church of Christ in Nations, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, who explained that they confessed to the act during a revival.

The clergyman said over 2,000 people came forward after he preached against the looting.

Dachomo appealed to the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, to temper justice with mercy by granting forgiveness to the repentant persons.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Governor, Secretary to the Government of the State Prof. Danladi Atu, commended Rev. Dachomo for appealing to the consciences of the affected persons who came forward to ask for forgiveness.

He promised to forward the plea of the repentant persons to the governor for further consideration.
