Kiriji 2017: Benedict Olugboyega Alabi Calls For Yoruba Unity

A front line politician in Osun State who is also said to be in the race to succeed Ogbeni Aregbesola in the forthcoming 2018 governorship election in the state, Benedict Olugboyega Alabi has join the call to strengthen Yoruba Unity.

Amiloaded gathered that Alabi said this at the annual Kiriji/Yoruba Unity Day in Imesi-Ile, Osun State.

The Kiriji/Ekiti parapo war was a sixteen- year conflict that broke out mainly between Ibadan and the combined forces of Ekiti and Ijesha. According to Latisosa, “the kiriji war ended all wars in Yoruba land”. The war parapo war was inarguably the last and the most protracted war that plagued the Yoruba nation.

Dr. Benedict Olugboyega Alabi in his speech revealed that the yoruba’s unity is not negotiable, and urged Yoruba leaders to unite irrespective of religion, or political party(ies) belongs.

In his reaction, the Owaooye of lmesi-lle, Oba Enoch Ademola Akinyemi, Oyoyo ll,  praised the Academician, Dr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi (BOA) who came to lend his  support for the success of this year’s edition of the celebration of Kiriji and the Yoruba Peace Treaty and his love for yoruba race.
