JUST IN: Police Clear Air On Fayose Attack In Osun

The State of Osun Police Command has reacted to the Isaac Fayose, the younger brother to the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose who narrowly escaped death by the whiskers from gunmen attacks along Gbongan- Ife-Ibadan Highway, on August 29, 2022.

Osun Police Command in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer SP Yemisi Opolola In Osogbo on Tuesday, stated that the incident has not been reported t to any police station from any victims.

She said the supposed victim to report to the nearest Police Station, as such case has not been reported at any Police Station in Osun.

The statement reads, “It has come to the knowledge of the Command the circulation of a report on social media indicating that, ‘Isaac Fayose, the younger brother to the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose narrowly escaped death by the whiskers from gunmen attacks along Gbongan- Ife-Ibadan Highway, on August 29, 2022.’

“The Command hereby wishes to inform all members of the public that, no such incident was reported in any part of the State. Members of the public are hereby enjoined to report any complaints or incidences to the nearest Police Station, not on social media.

“In the same vein, the Command is requesting/asking Mr Isaac Ayodele to report to any nearest police station in the state or call this number 08067788119 (PPRO Osun) for proper documentation and investigation in order to know exactly what happened, while urging members of the public to take time to verify the authenticity of whatever information they receive via the social media before circulating.”

She added that the Police in Osun under the leadership of CP Olawale Olokode, psc, will not relent in their efforts to ensure that the citizens of the State and the travelers are safe and their property secured.
