Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has visited the dethroned Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, in Awe.
The governor, who reportedly arrived at 5 pm on Thursday with the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Dauda Bage, met with the former Kano monarch at the guest house of Awe Local Government Chairman, where Sanusi was kept since his dethronement on Monday by the Kano State Government.
It was gathered that the governor alongside Bage and the Emir of Awe, Alhaji Isa Umar II, spent about one hour with Sanusi.
The visitors were said to leave Sanusi’s residence around 6:15 pm.
An aide to the governor confirmed the visit to our correspondent.
It was learnt that the former Emir was not in Lagos State on Thursday as speculated on social media.
The President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Sule had on Wednesday met in Abuja after Sanusi was banished to Nasarawa State.
Sule got to the Presidential Villa at about 10am ahead of the Federal Executive Council meeting.
The two met at the President’s residence, not in his office.
Findings indicated that the governor might have visited to brief the President on the latest security situation in his state, especially the presence of a high-profile personality like Sanusi.
The Presidency did not give any official explanations on the visit by Sule.
