HRM Oba Moshood Alamu Oparonke, the Onisaraa of Feesu has publicly declared the decision of his kingdom to appoint and install Professor Oguntola Jelil Alamu as the first Agbaakin Abobagunwa of Feesu. The royal father made the declaration at a well-attended function in his domain on the 16th September 2019.
According to the monarch, Professor Oguntola Alamu has consistently demonstrated uncommon love and reverence for the traditional institution and the stool of Onisaraa of Feesu for time immemorial. He further stressed that the decision to appoint this impactful scholar of note as Agbaakin Abobagunwa predates his previous chieftaincy installations as Asiwaju Odo of Iwoland and Mayegun of Ileogbo kingdom. Those titles, independently conferred on him by Oluwo of Iwoland and Olu of Ileogbo, were proofs of his God-given virtues deserving of community and royal recognition.
Oba Oparonke revealed further that the sequence was a mutually concluded arrangement among all parties concerned. “Like his previous chieftaincy titles, this appointment is equally pro bono. His conferment with the title of Agbaakin Abobagunwa of Feesu has no financial requirements or considerations. His humility, respect and love for his community has paid the necessary price.
The public pronouncement became necessary now, to serve as further encouragement to Professor Oguntola Alamu to continue with his selfless services and sacrifices towards securing better future for our communities. The date for the official installation will soon be made public”, the monarch concluded.
