Court Dimissses $120,000 Fraud Case Against Osun Deputy Chief Of Staff, Binuyo

A Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Maitama has dismissed an alleged fraud suit against Mr Abdullahi Binuyo, the Chief of Staff to Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola.

According to a report by the Nigerian Tribune on Thursday, the sitting judge on the case, Justice Olasumbo Goodluck dismissed the case when the parties in the case failed to appear at the resumption of trial on Wednesday.

It was  earlier reported that Binuyo was dragged to court over an alleged fraud of $120,000 between him and a man identified as Babatunde Ajala.

During the trial, Counsel to Binuyo, Wahab Ismail denied the involvement of the his client in the business, stating that Binuyo was only a witness and not a party to the failed business.

“At any rate, even the amount involved in the business, which is $100,000 and not $120,000, has been refunded in full to the party concerned almost a year ago.

It was received by one Tunde Ajala, which was duly acknowledged by his Counsel as well and witnessed by the Police”, Ismail said in a statement earlier on Wednesday.

Ismail added that the story is not only mischievous, but equally misleading and an attempt to cast aspersions on the person of Binuyo.

While delivering her ruling on Wednesday, Justice Goodluck held that “at the instance of the prosecution, the case is struck out.”
