The management of The Polytechnic Ibadan has announced the suspension of all activities on the campus.
The school, however, said the ongoing second semester examinations will continue despite the announcement.
The polytechnic made the announcement on Sunday in a statement by the institution’s Registrar, Mrs Modupe Fawale.
The registrar hinged the decision of the school to suspend activities on the security situation on the campus and outside.
It stated that academic activities, including conferences, seminars and workshops in the institution had, tentatively, been suspended.
The statement read, “The authorities of The Polytechnic, Ibadan have suspended all public activities, including conferences, seminars and workshops in the institution and its environment until further notice apart from the ongoing second semester examinations.
“By this, all deans of faculties, directors, heads of departments, religious bodies, students’ union, students’ representative council, all staff and members of the public are to kindly abide by this directive which takes effect from Sunday, 27th of June.”
