The leading aspirant in the upcoming gubernatorial election in Osun State, Barrister Kunle Adegoke, has commended the Anglican Communion and other churches in the country for their immense contributions towards the development of the country, saying that when elected Governor in the forthcoming election, he would take the State to the next level of economic recovery, growth and development by building on the infrastructural development efforts of the current administration.
He made the remarks at the All Souls Anglican Church in Osogbo where the 2018 Synod of the Anglican Communion Osogbo Diocese took place on Friday.
The governorship hopeful who was presented with an award by the Osun Anglican Diocesan Bishop, Most Rev. James Afolabi Popoola, for his noticed immense contributions to the development of the State and great service to humanity, said that as a childhood member of the Anglican Church through maternal parenthood, he recognised the teachings, the moral lessons and also appreciated the position of the church most times on national issues.
The Osogbo-born politician then promised to build on the infrastructural developmental efforts of Ogbeni Aregbesola to take the State to the next level of economic growth, recovery & viability.
Earlier, the diocesan Bishop, Most Rev. James Popoola, gave a comprehensive account of stewardship of the Church in the last one year by revealing the activities and innovations of the church under his watch for which everyone commended him.
He then wished Kunle Adegoke success in his desires and thanked him so much for attending the event in person as the only governorship aspirant that attended it among numerous of them invited across party lines.
Other notable people in attendance at the Synod are Sen. Ayo Fasanmi, Dr. Femi Oladimeji, Dr. Wale Omole, Dr. Oladimeji of Oroki Hospital, Barr. Niyi Owolade, Chief Jimoh Buraimoh, Ataoja of Osogbo & Alh. Muideen Kosemani among other important guests.
Barrister Kunle Adegoke then donated generously towards the growth and development of the works of God in the Church.
